All's not well with the bureaucracies of Death. A globe-spanning network of governments, corporations, monarchies and chaotic non-establishments, each one administrates end-of-life processes within a region of the world…or makes a laughable attempt to.

Things just seem to keep slipping through the cracks: death-dodgers, luck black holes, camels pulling souls out of rivers. And the occasional deity who seems to think rescuing souls from death is the most noble cause and not an overdone and ultimately futile trick.

It is in this world that all kinds of misadventures unfold, skirting the borders of death, darkness and profanity of every sort.
